Microwave Homemade Caramel Chews

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Generously butter bottom of an 8-inch square micro-safe baking pan

  2. Add nuts

  3. Shake pan to settle nuts into an even layer

  4. Put remaining butter and corn syrup in a 2-quart micro-safe bowl

  5. Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until butter melts

  6. Add condensed milk, brown sugar and vanilla

  7. Stir to smoothly blend

  8. Microwave at medium power for 8-10 minutes (stirring well every minute or so until the mixture has a thick, caramel consistency.

  9. Pour mixture over nuts in pan.

  10. Tilt pan so caramel flows over nuts in an even layer

  11. Let cool for 2 hours before cutting into squares
